Be prepared to see the colour purple — or, to be more precise, “ultra violet” — everywhere this year, because Pantone’s Colour Institute has made its annual announcement unveiling the colour of the year, and for 2018 they’ve chosen a “blue-based purple that takes our awareness and potential to a higher level.”
The colour purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. Purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic.
The colour purple has a variety of effects on the mind and body, including uplifting spirits, calming the mind and nerves, enhancing the sacred, creating feelings of spirituality, increasing nurturing tendencies and sensitivity, and encouraging imagination and creativity.
All food for thought when creating an atmosphere around your or your client’s business.
